PERCEPTION OF GRADUATE GRADUATES FROM THE HIGHER EDUCATION PROGRAM FOR REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF THE STATE OF SANTA CATARINA (PROESDE) - IES DO MIDDLE EAST CATARINESE (2013-2018)

Abstract

The objective of this work is to describe in a contextualized way the perception of scholarship students participating in the Higher Education Development Program in the State of Santa Catarina - PROESDE of an IES in the Midwest of Santa Catarina. However, we first approach a contextualization of this public policy to encourage Higher Education, which aims to expand and provide access to this level of education. The research result presents the evolutionary process of PROESDE in the researched HEI; the characterization of the socioeconomic profile of graduates of the HEI and of former scholarship holders; and describes the notes and perceptions of the ex-scholarship holders of PROESDE, considering the period from 2013 to 2018. The research followed the descriptive qualitative-quantitative methodology, being a case study, involving only ex-scholarship holders graduating from the IES do Meio. West Santa Catarina. It ends with the results and considerations pointed out by the graduates related to PROESDE about their perception. Among the results found, it was possible to describe the evolutionary process of PROESDE, which grew during the period studied, it is highlighted, by the perception of the graduates, that access to PROESDE is understood as a unique opportunity for learning, professional evolution, change of life, personal growth and continuity of studies, fulfillment of the dream of completing a degree. It was observed by the reports that PROESDE contributed satisfactorily for helping in cases of the first generation of the family to have higher education and personal development due to the activities carried out. With the research it was possible to better understand the functions of PROESDE for the region of the HEI under study, especially with the perceptions of the graduates themselves.
